Senior Citizens Grant

What is the Senior Citizen's Grant?

Also referred to as 'Old Age Pension', this is a monthly grant given to citizens 65 years and over.

How do I qualify for the Senior Citizen's Grant?

• The applicant must be 65 years of age or over.

• The applicant must be a resident of Trinidad and Tobago for twenty (20) years prior to their application. A person who has fulfilled the above criteria but has traveled abroad during the 20 years of residency, may also apply, once the aggregate period spent abroad was less than five (5) years.

• The applicant's income must not exceed $3,000.00 per month.

• Persons wishing to apply must obtain a form from the Social Welfare Office situated at Glen Road, ensure it is fully completed, signed, and witnessed.

What are the required documents?

The documents to be submitted along with the application form are:

• Birth Certificate and/or Affidavit

• ID Card

• Passport

• Bank Passbook

• Marriage Certificate (for married women)

• National Insurance Information
